The best option would be to contribute to the IV and let them know that you want the money to go to the AILF. I am sure that is what IV is planning to. It doesn't make sense to fight 2 wars against the same enemy. But said that the AILF has made requests for contributions but not very seriously. The main thing they want is to join the case and even that (the numbers required) I believe is already accomplished. So sit back and enjoy the summer, while spreading the message of this injustice.

Reading through this thread I find this intense debate about the value and intentions of Murthy's letter.
Let's first deal with the value part: This letter could be from any one of us or anybody else from Timbuktu. Why does this letter have any special significance except that the DHS secretary may read it because Murthy and the secretary are alumni of the same institution (see how carefully this part is added to the letter for our consumption). Now this feeds into the intention part. Even if Murthy wrote a letter to the DHS Secretary why did she have to publicize it on her website (except for the gullible among us to take notice). They also pay very less salary charging less billing with clients compared to the open market. But being a fresher in USA , getting trained , getting into a project , all these are individual hardwork and ofcourse more money.Once you are on client side you may not have much support as Satyam, TCS, WIPRO guys has. you can not say that u r a fresher and client expectation would be more since they pay high billing .

Answer: A person who fails to maintain status for over 180 days may have a problem obtaining the approval of the I-485, which allows a maximum of 180 days for one to be out of status under Section 245(k) of the INA, unless the person is covered under 245(i) of the INA. Sometimes, though, the fault of the employer in not paying the salary while the person is considered an employee may not pose a problem but at other times it may pose a problem. Not having pay stubs will certainly adversely impact the ability to obtain an extension or change of status from the USCIS. Jun-20-2005.

I had written about this in the past. When I went for local office interview; he had requested all w2's and tax returns from my initial entry shown on g-325( LAST ADDRESS OUTSIDE USA FOR MORE THEN ONE YEAR) which was 1999.
It said prove that you maintained status on each entry.
Now: i didn't have any issues but I was pretty upset that officer was going way outside the law and testing periods that he wasn't supposed to. My date of last entry before filing 485 was December 2002 and he was requesting 1999-2006.
I did inform him that he wasn't supposed to ask for this as it was outside the law. However; what I gathered is that although 245k does have some significant protection for everyone; uscis tries to go other ways in catching/snagging you. Another link was provided in this link where a person listed an employer on his g-325a but he was on bench and never got paid. USCIS was trying to deny his 485 due to fraud. Fraud overrules 24k any time.
Therefore; uscis uses many different avenues to get at other aspects; especially to get you to lie, cover up, mislead in things you don't need to but inadvertently do because you think it is problematic when it really wasn't.
The feeling i got from my interview is that is what he was exactly trying to do.

My attorney says so far I have not received your rejection but not to say USCIS might have mailed one and we have not received it. If we get it then we will resubmit..if not then you will get receipt notice.
He did not address whether we will be able to retain our July 2nd queue number or not.
We all should be worried now.! Don't know what to say or recommend.

Things don't move in vacuum. How people vote has everything to do with how lawmakers vote and how lawmakers vote has everything to do with what bills pass. You just want the bill so that you can get green card, end of story. And anything other than that is "who cares".
Look, without making and attempt to understand how things work in DC/Congress, sending flowers and cards to Obama, don't expect things to change. Tunnel vision is very dangerous, just like half knowledge.
Although we do not control who comes into power, if we wish to have our issues addressed, we have the responsibility to understand why/how someone or some party won the elections. Please stop behaving like and IT project manager where someone will come up with a silver bullet solution/plan and then implementation of that one silver bullet will fix everything. Getting bills passed in congress is not an IT project. I think the plan has been laid by the core team. I understand that core team has repeatedly told us to get more actively involved, raise money to help with advocacy and create awareness of the issue. Posting few messages on the web forum is not the measure of how involved someone is. But it appears most people on this forum do not want to do what the core seems to be telling us. We just want to come up with an way way out, a silver bullet solution, well defined project plan, and at the end of time and money, we must see the desired result. Maybe that's why some of the folks keep asking for the "plan". And discussion about who won the election and how people/lawmakers vote is seen as out of place and unnecessary.

Hi, I see that several June 1st filers who mailed on 31st may have received RD's. So same logic should apply for July 2nd filers who mailed on 30th june. I dont see any difference between the two scenarios. Any rejected july 2nd applns should have already reached, unless they are lost in return mail :(. Otherwise the scenario is exactly identical to June 1st filers.

There is no divide and rule policy by US as giving H1 does not mean that you have to file for Immigration, It is the choice of the person to get immigrated to US and US has set some policies by quota system. If you don't like it then no one is forcing you to stay back (US will say that if u sue USCIS).
Thought to chip in my 2 cents as you are showing similarities of british raj and US. First of all it was the fault of the kings in India during that time who were not united enough to kick them out.

...and the elite sit back, sip their martinis, and watch the fun.
So you have two choices before you:
1) Keep fighting, achieve none of the 3 main IV objectives, and continue your bonded slavery or
2) Unite as one to achieve all 3 objectives, and throw off your shackles

Can anyone confirm if the files are actually being transferred from Nebraska to Texas? Why is the compliance date for Texas 10/26 and for Nebraska it's 8/1.
Why would files be transferred from NSC to TSC. Didn't USCIS issue instructions to file everything at NSC. Life is getting more complicated each day.

If you are filtering on the basis of application status = pending you will get much more uptodate applications than the static one as per this poll.
Interesting thing (not in a good way) to note is most EB3 India (even whose priority dates are as back as 2003-2002) have filed in June/July.

yes but they will start processing the applications based on the receipt dates. so if a guy applied last year, he gets priority over last month's people. (that is assuming that his priority dates were current last year from him to apply!)
also they will need to do fingerprinting etc. and shall pass the FBI check before they get to final stage of adjudication. that would take 6 more months. so they should look at the bulletin at that time to see if they are eligible. dont get excited about these dates - they are not that helpful for the last month filers.
some people who applied in June may get approved if their PDs are current. July/ Aug filers unlikely

For the past 2 months there has been many quarrels between EB2 and EB3.EB2 folks were really happy as the dates were current and suddenly they saw the Oct visa news from m umbai consulate and see so many posts regarding the apathy of USICS.
My dear friends USCIS was like that only since ages and because of it Labour Backlogs were created
To resolve these issues they started BP Centers
Then again came New labour system-- but still old habits die hard and see what happened to the new labour system
now DOL is playing with us with their new cutoff dates.
So Please forget about EB2 and EB3 lets all unite and fight for final push for EB reforms to get GC.
